Foundation Canine Events
SDPF and Canines
Community support for the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) Canine Unit grows each year, thanks to the San Diego Police Foundation. People’s love of dogs leads to contributions range from $10 to $80,000, says Wenda Alvarez, the Foundation’s former president and CEO. But loving dogs is only part of the reason they donate.
Police dogs save lives. And a tangible charitable investment with such an excellent return on investment is pretty compelling.
Grants awarded to purchase police service dogs, acquire equipment and expand training opportunities, are examples of the San Diego Police Foundation’s efforts to bring charitable community giving together with public safety results.
Through generous donations from people like you, the Foundation purchases retiree replacements. You can help!
