The SDPD canine Unit is an efficient alternative to lethal force. Gifts
large and small are helping the Foundation fund the cost for young
police service dogs to replace retirees.
"Inside SDPD"
Until a law-enforcement or public safety issue strikes close to home,
few citizens understand why cops do the thing they do. "Inside
SDPD" is an educational program that gives citizens an
opportunity to take on the role of a cop. Vehicle-stop scenarios,
fire arms training and learning about police use-of-force policies
allows participants to experience the responsibility and complexity
of police work. For program dates and information contact info@sdpolicefoundation.org.
Your tax-deductible contribution helps.
Community support of the Foundation's work helps us provide funding for youth violence prevention programs, equipment to improve the operations of special units like air support, S.W.A.T., and K-9. And you help us provide tools that enhance elder-abuse investigations, domestic violence prosecutions, child safety programs and more.
