Cell phones, Cyberbullying and child pornography

The seeming anonymity of the Internet has opened the door to new threats. Yet 60% of middle school youth would not feel comfortable going to their parents if they got "in trouble" online. The San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and San Diego Police Foundation are providing tools to facilitate healthy choices for our first online generation and grow the 20% rate of kids who will speak out.

Smart cyber choices are the core of our SafetyNet parent presentation and it’s getting outstanding reviews. Most importantly, parents leave the presentation feeling better prepared to guide their children's cyber activities. The multi-media program has plenty of stats, resources to take home (implementation!) and just enough humor. It's FREE! Check our schedule of upcoming programs.

In middle school classrooms, educators use SafetyNet activities to help students make responsible and ethical cyber choices.

Survey results show that 95% of students gained knowledge. And educators described the activities as achieving strong levels of student engagement and meaningful discussions.

San Diego Police Foundation

What We Do

The San Diego Police Foundation’s work is the result of caring citizens like you. We help raise awareness of important unbudgeted or “discretionary” needs that will improve crime-prevention and law-enforcement efficiency. Then we put tax-deductible contributions to measurable work in local communities.

In households where domestic violence tears at the fabric of families, the Foundation has helped many relationships escape the cycle of violence by funding a program that helps increase arrests and successful prosecutions.

In units like S.W.A.T., grants help overcome the disadvantage of criminals often being better equipped than police.

The Foundation is an independent 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization providing support for efforts that enhance police/community relations, crime prevention and public safety through grant funding for specialized equipment, training, and cooperative community programs. It is governed by volunteer directors.

. . . and Don't Do

The Foundation does not fund personnel, regular police vehicles, lethal weapons, officers' uniforms or standard police equipment.

You make all the difference. Your gifts are tax-deductible.
